Guided Elk Hunts in Western Wyoming
The bugle of a bull elk splits the cold mountain air while the aspen leaves gently dance in the wind, and you’re experiencing it all from the back of your trusty mountain horse. This is elk hunting in the wilderness of Wyoming with Mountain Ivory Adventures. While you can expect a modern camp and professionally prepared meals, the hunt itself hasn’t changed much since the outfit began over 100 years ago.
Guests choose us for guided archery and rifle elk hunts to experience the wilderness, pursue game in the Bridger-Teton National Forest (Elk Region W) and Gros Ventre Wilderness Area, and hunt like explorers and mountain men have done for centuries before us.
Fair-Chase Wilderness Elk Hunting
Elk hunting with Mountain Ivory Adventures is a unique opportunity to escape the crowds and experience the mountains of Wyoming in their purest form. As an outfitter with exclusive side-by-side trail access to our camp deep in the General W elk region , we are able to avoid other hunters and chase minimally pressured elk herds throughout the season on both Forest Service and designated Wilderness areas.
Traditional Horseback Elk Hunts
While our units hold some great trophy bulls, our main goal is to provide hunters with an authentic, fair-chase elk hunt with an opportunity to take home a good representative bull. Hunters who join us for an elk hunt can not only expect an untouched, unspoiled wilderness experience, but also a traditional horseback hunt that is reminiscent of the good old days.
Rifle & Archery Elk Hunts
We cater to both archery and rifle hunters who are in search of a real elk hunt. As with most states, archery elk season takes place at the beginning of the season during peak rut, offering an incredible hunting experience. However, Wyoming rifle elk season gives hunters the unique opportunity to hunt the tail end of the rut with a rifle. This early season, paired with our low-pressure elk population, makes for a truly unforgettable rifle elk hunt.
